The project focuses on informing and encouraging mobile EU citizens to take advantage of their rights and opportunities to participate in the social and political life of their host country. Moreover, it aims to develop and promote the exchange and dissemination of innovative community-based methods based on the best available research and practices. In addition, the project aims to raise awareness among policy makers of the reasons, procedural and practical obstacles and interests for mobile EU citizens to use these rights and opportunities.
As part of the "One-stop-shop for the political participation of mobile EU citizens" project, the European Citizen United conducted a survey on the political rights and political participation of EU citizens living in a country other than their own across the European Union. The results of the survey will feed into a report designed to shed light on the drivers and barriers to political participation of mobile EU citizens.
