Your Europe Advice is an online EU advice service provided by Your Europe Advice legal experts working under contract with the European Commission. It consists of a team of about 60 lawyers who are fluent in all 24 official EU languages and are familiar with both EU law and national legislation in all EU countries. Your Europe Advice answers questions from citizens or companies about their personal EU rights. The experts answer questions within 72 hours, free of charge and in the user's chosen language. Each year, Your Europe Advice's experts answer about 21,000 questions.
Topics usually handled by ECU include social security (questions about pension rights, child benefits, unemployment benefits), vehicles (registering or buying a car in another EU country, driving licenses), visas (Schengen and other visas for people from outside the EU), residence (the right to live in another EU country and what formalities are involved), work (recognition of professional qualifications and diplomas, people sent abroad to work) and taxes (finding out in which country you have to pay taxes).
